Up And Coming Stakes 2011 – Nominations Released

August 15th, 2011

Nominations have been released for the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes that will take place at Warwick Farm Racecourse this Saturday August 20, 2011.

The Up And Coming Stakes 2011 will be run over a distance of 1,300 metres and will be worth $125,000 in prize money.

Open to three-year-old horses only, the 2011 Up And Coming Stakes will be run under quality handicap conditions.

11 horses have been nominated to compete in the Up And Coming Stakes 2011, including Tony Sergi’s Diamond To Pegasus.

Diamond To Pegasus finished fourth in his last start at Randwick in the Listed The Rosebud on August 6, 2011.

The three-year-old gelding found success last preparation when he won the Listed Canonbury Stakes ahead of Written Consent in February.

Also included in the Up And Coming Stakes 2011 nominations is John Thompson’s Pane In The Glass, who is also nominated for the Group 3 Silver Shadow Stakes for three-year-old fillies on the same day.

Pane In The Glass claimed victory in both the Inglis Nursery and Inglis Classic last preparation and will be looking to resume where she left off in the autumn.

Paul Messara’s Rekindled Alliance and David Payne’s Queenian are also included in the 2011 Up And Coming Stakes nominations.
